WHAT THE CRITICS SAY

... “And So It Goes” ...is the first time you get to hear their voices come together to create a harmony that needs no instruments to make it complete. In fact, their voices blend perfectly. The song is beautiful enough to make you want to hear it more than once.

“Over The Rainbow” has always been a favorite of mine since I was a little kid. Hearing it performed a capella certainly doesn’t change that at all. The transients in the performance are captured perfectly and add to the overall quality of the song.

[The] Inner Voices’ performance of “Can’t Take That Away From Me” is the first time on the sampler you get a chance to hear each of the vocalists, both as soloists and in unison. Once again the transients are perfectly captured and that together with the nearly perfect timing and rhythm make this one of the most memorable performances I have heard in some time. Once again it is one of the tracks I can honestly say I listen to over and over again.

I will admit that I would gladly go through the rest of [The] Inner Voices performances.... Each one has a new and different feel to them; though none is better then the next.

MEET

The a capella vocal group that would become known as The Inner Voices was formed in 2000 to showcase the combined talents of lead singer Carly Tuttle, mezzo-soprano Melissa Morina and alto Danielle Jacobson. Their euphonic blend and unique harmonies have delighted audiences at contests, festivals, and special events throughout the Midwest.

Together the three girls create their own hauntingly smooth arrangements of traditional Renaissance, Medieval and Gospel music. Each finds their inspiration in each other, creating a synergy among them that is evident in their arrangements. They have won numerous awards and captivated audiences wherever they have performed.

Carly, Melissa, and Danielle first began singing together during a solo/ensemble contest during Carly’s senior year in high school. They had sung together in their high schools’ choir, the Hillside Singers, for three years, but had never sang as a trio until the contest. They ended up winning top honors at district competition and at the state competition that year. Recognizing they had something special, they began singing together regularly. Together, they attended high school in Pleasant Hill, Missouri -- in the shadow of a weather radar site. Maybe that explains their sunny dispositions.

Carly Tuttle O’Rourke was born September 29, 1983 in Raytown, Missouri, Carly's hobbies are singing (of course!), dance and theater. Together with a sister and two brothers, Carly grew up in nearby Pleasant Hill, Missouri. While attending high school, her vocal talent was apparent. She sang in the Corpus Christi and Oklahoma City regional choirs, numerous state and district choirs, and was alternate for All State her senior year. A 2002 high school graduate, she now attends Vatterot College -- when she isn’'t singing. Carly has recently married her high school sweetheart and the happy couple are now serving their country in the Army. Thank you, Carly, for your selflessness and sacrifice!

Melissa Morina came to live in Pleasant Hill, Missouri after moving from her home town of Modesto, California, where she was born on August 25, 1984. When she isn’t singing, she is doing everything a normal young woman would do with her parents Taresa and Steve Morina, two younger brothers, Champion the German Shepherd, Bunny the Pomeranian, Rayden the cockatiel and many tropical fish. A 2003 high school graduate, she will be majoring in vocal music education at the University of Missouri, Kansas City. Melissa says, “I loved to sing since I was three. I especially love singing with two of my best friends. we always have so much fun together. At practices, we do more laughing than singing!”

Danielle Jacobson likes to keep busy in her current home town of Pleasant Hill, Missouri. She has two younger sisters, Sarah and Brooke; two younger brothers, Greg and Calvin; two cats (Frank Sinatra and Princess), Cole, her dog; and Commanchee, her horse. She was in All State Choir in 2002 and 2003, regional choirs, and several other choirs. In between her singing, she manages to keep busy with horseback riding, football and basketball. Born August 3, 1984 in Harrisonville, Missouri, she's also a 2003 high school graduate. She is attending Northwest Missouri State University to earn her degree in elementary vocal music education.
